2008 AMW All-Star Awards Print E-mail

From Robert Stanton

Announcing The 2008 AMW All-Star Awards For the fourth year in a row, America's Most Wanted and Sprint are honoring extraordinary first responders with the All-Star Award, and we need your help to publicize this award to Firefighters, EMT’s, Paramedics, Law Enforcement Officers, and other first responders.

Lieutenant Brian Ellicott (EMD) looses fight agains cancer Print E-mail

Today at 13:26 Lieutenant Brian Ellicott (EMD) surrounded by his wife, father and best friend lost his fight against the cancer in his body. Brian battled non Hodgkins type lymphoma that started in his chest and eventually spread to his back causing him to have paralysis from the chest down.

On September 11, 2001 Brian was assigned to Station 11 as an EMT. He worked over one hundred hours the first two weeks alone in the rescue and recovery effort.

I have known Brian for many years. He was a good man. He was a member of EMS for many years.

He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Marianne and I have prepared Brians wife, Debbie for this possibility. I promised Brian that if anything happened to him that I would fight for his family. We have already started that fight.

What I ask from you the membership. I need all off duty members to attend his funeral. Brians death was caused from his exposure and dedication. We need to send a message to the city that we will not stand for what is happening to our friends and most important that we support the family.
